Logbook kept by E. Jones Ludlow, boatsteerer, on board the ship COMMODORE PREBLE of Lynn, Massachusetts. Lafayette Ludlow, master, for a voyage to the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean whaling grounds. Contains crew list, navigational data, mentions injury at sea, scrimshaw (making canes, busks, boxes from bone.) Made 11 ports-of-call and spoke 46 vessels.
