Journal kept by Robert S. Howland on board the ship LOGAN of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Nickerson, master, for a whaling voyage to the Pacific Ocean. Contains descriptions of various jobs on board as well as whales sighted and whales taken, spoke 8 vessels. Partial journal covers other part of voyage which commenced 11 November 1847.
