Journal kept by George Denham on board the schooner RIALTO, bound from Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts to San Francisco, California. George Denham was a minister traveling to California with a company of gold seekers. Denham comments on life aboard ship and lack of religious convictions of fellow passengers. Extensive mention of the schooner ODD FELLOW with whom the RIALTO sailed through the Straits of Magellan.
