Journal kept by Ellery Nash, master, on board bark PRUDENT of Stonington, Connecticut for a voyage to the Pacific Ocean and Arctic Ocean whaling grounds. Contains whale stamps, mentions death at sea, injury at sea, shipwreck (took survivors from wreck of a Japanese vessel). Made 7 ports-of-call and spoke 36 vessels.
