Description
DOLPHIN had been captured by the privateer schooner SPY and sold to Connecticut for 1000 pounds in November 1777, the proceeds of the sale going as prize money to the officers and crew of the SPY. DOLPHIN was evidently being outfitted by the State of Connecticut for privateering.
