Primarily correspondence with shipmasters regarding cargoes, ship repairs, and problems with crew. Includes Brig WARREN BROWN (abandoned at sea-1855), Brig L.W. MAXWEL, and Brig BETSEY AMES, whose loss is described in the enclosed Alabama Claims brief. Papers after 1868 detail family matters, etc. Letter, October 1869 describes a major flood in Hartford, Connecticut
